It's been a long time since i have put a blog together, We haven't been out a great deal of late but we did have a good day out last Saturday.
Myself and Ian launched around 10 a.m into a slight chop but the forecast was for the wind to ease off to a very light south east turning south west so the plan was to head to worms head for the day.
We did stop off to see if there were any mackerel around in swansea bay so we drifted around a wreck in the bay where we were catching some decent gurnard a few tubs and greys a few baby tope and the odd mackerel too.

We stopped off at Langland reef to try a new spot there it was pretty quiet but Ian did manage a couple of hefty Bull Huss so we left soon after and steamed down to the worm.
We had a look at the end of the worm where there were a lot of boats drifting so we joined them to have a go for bass, We didn't manage any neither did the other boats but there were mackerel everywhere mostly very small with the odd keeper here and there.
We stuck for a bit had a bite to eat then moved to our little hot spot where we did well last time out.
The mackerel were here in big numbers too could hardly get down the bottom to find the pollock without filling up with mackerel.
When we could get down to bottom we were getting a few pollock to but not as big as last time
Ian had a nice little surprise pulling in a small codling in then i got one straight after then back to more pollack this time a couple of keepers inbetween the swarms of mackerel
We started another drift along the track where the codling were and i managed another codling around 3lb but i didn't get a pic of it was hoping for some more so dropped straight back down but we didn't find any more of them but did get some tidy sized pollock in between the mackerel.
We spent hours fishing around the worm it is such a nice scenic place to fish we didn't want to head back so we decided to stay longer the fishing was non stop.

The sun was getting low so we reluctantly left to fish langland for an hour before it was dark, We must have caught around 300 mackerel we kept a few for the freezer for winter bait but must have put 75% back they were undersize.
At Langland we managed a few bream i had my first dogfish of the day and Ian had two dogfish, Just three dogs caught all day that's a first! We had some crazy smoothounds too before it was time up the anchor and head for port it was an amazing day's fishing we got 11 species hardly sat down all day a lovely end to the summer fishing.
